QC Technologist III

Scope: 

To perform routine to complex techniques associated with daily QC release and long term stability testing of diagnostic reagents while working in a laboratory environment, following safety protocols and Quality Assurance procedures. To work as part of a team to ensure shipping schedules are met. 

Responsibilities:

May include some or all of the following:

Works under indirect supervision.
Must adhere to and follow written procedures.
Executes defined tasks or small projects and successfully attains completion with minimum supervisory guidance.
Interacts with related areas to complete tasks.
Reviews results for accuracy and interpretation. Proven ability to make recommendations based on the results obtained.
Effectively solves routine and non-routine problems, finds solutions to issues when they arise. Identifies useful resources when applicable.
Responsible and accountable for accuracy and timeliness of system transactions.
Performs Bulk (Intermediate), finish good QC testing, stability studies for Diagnostic Reagents, Instrument Solutions  and other support materials; execution of validation or verification protocols as required.
Authors or submits change requests for required documents.
Collaborates with Supervisor to establish a level work load.  Responsible for meeting the daily and weekly testing schedule
Participates on product transfer teams. Trouble shoots problems. Supports or initiates process improvement projects.  Performs necessary validations of equipment.
Maintains a high degree of quality in all work performed.  Maintain a clean and professional appearance of all QC areas
Operating and maintaining automated and manual instruments necessary for the quality control testing and long term stability assays.
Completing Quality Assurance documentation for quality control of product and maintenance and calibration of instruments.
Carrying out projects and/or research.
Other responsibilities as required. 

Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree, or Diploma from a recognized Chemical/Bioscience Technology program, experience in a Clinical Chemistry Laboratory is an asset. 

Skills / Pre-requisites:

Good written and oral communication skills
Proficient in computer use, especially spreadsheet and word processing programs
